NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I can't do that weekend in Atlanta - I'm parking cars/fundraising for the football team at school - it is the only thing on my calendar this autumn!!! I hope this tour expands a bit... not sure about NY on a Thursday either. YIKES.

YAYAYAYAYAY!!!! Fantastic news!!! ;D I noticed yesterday when looking round the new official KC site that they had the booking managers names and web addresses for both non North America, and North America. And I thought, "Well, at least they have someone to handle a North American tour, so that's a good sign. Hope they put him to work soon!" Ha! Little did I know... Like River, I am hoping more dates will be announced. They just HAVE to come HEEEEEEERE! (Denver) And I see a lot of time between the Dallas and San Francisco dates. Otherwise, I will be looking into taking a trip somewhere. (Hmm, might do that anyway, even if they do come here. Have to see what the financial situation is then.)

Fingers crossed for you all. I love travelling to gigs (although the furthest I've been was to the Isle of Man, not exactly overseas) but then I guess you guys have a lot more country to travel across than we do!

Yeah, the nearest date (Atlanta) is six hours away by motorway barring any holdups. And I know ModFlower has similar issues unless a Denver date is added.

So that's the equivalent of me driving to Glasgow on a good day, ouch. I really hope they schedule something nearer to you both.
Random useless fact, we've got family in Atlanta. Marietta.

I'm sure they'll throw in some Canadian dates too. Toronto should be in there. Heh, I know. I'm just dying to see them live again. And I know that they always play Toronto; because I stupidly missed about a million of their shows there despite having been a fan since your typical Canadian could conceivably be. D'oh. If NYC ends being the only date remotely close to me, I'm gonna find a way to go. I've never even been there and have always wanted to visit; perhaps I can schedule in tapings of The Daily Show, Colbert Report & Saturday Night Live at the same time. Week of awesomeness? Yes please!

I love travelling to gigs (although the furthest I've been was to the Isle of Man, not exactly overseas) but then I guess you guys have a lot more country to travel across than we do! Yup, it's harder. I've always envied how you UK boardies could fairly easily (and cheaply?) go to any gig you chose. Even getting to gigs in Europe doesn't seem too bad. Every time I've seen Chiefs (which is a grand total of twice) I've had to fly, as it was around 1,000 miles or more to those cities, and that's costly. So of course, I could only afford to see one gig. But I'm still looking forward to seeing where they'll be playing once the tour is fleshed out, and just how many of those gigs I can do. And I have a job now, so I don't feel as guilty about going to any far-flung gigs as I did before. That makes it a little easier

So don't be too disappointed if that doesn't happen.

I've not done a European gig yet, but I assume flights can be pretty cheap if bought at the right time, so I guess we're lucky in that respect. I must admit I tend to drive everywhere, I'm not a good flyer at the best of times. It was five hours to Falmouth, and 4.5 to the Eden Project - driving home afterwards was a struggle (never again!) I enjoy the journey though, I like the idea of throwing a few things in the back of the car, music on and off I go. Only problem comes when they shut the M1 for example, and it takes me just over 7 hours to get back from Leeds (which is usually a two hour journey!) Sorry waffling on now, but I hope they do a cluster of dates close enough to you so you're able to do more than one.

Good luck trying to score any tickets to Saturday Night Live though. I've heard the waiting list for that show is a couple of years! So don't be too disappointed if that doesn't happen. heh, actually a good friend of mine and I are pretty big SNL nerds, so every so often we talk about going to see an episode live, and how it works is that you enter an email address on the website and they do a "draw" every August for tickets for the following season. It sucks because you can't enter a preference for dates or anything, but from what I've researched it is also quite possible to get stand-by tickets the day of the taping- you just need to wait in line all day (something I'm all too familiar with.) I'm guessing that the season premiere this year will likely be the Saturday immediately following the Chiefs date, so it might just work out nicely . I may go ahead and plan for it even if they do end up playing Toronto... Chiefs are definitely one of those bands you want to see again and again; I perfectly understand why the UK residents here follow them all over .

If I had the money and could get the time off of work, I would go to all of the US shows. I always regret it in the 2+ years in between shows.

Sal - I love a road trip! Too bad their gigs were always too far, and there simply wasn't time for that.
scrumtralescent - Best of luck on the SNL tickets! And hope you get your Chiefs show in Toronto.
cherylcyn - Me too! It's a shame the Chiefs don't come round more often. About once every two years is a looong time to wait. And because you're never quite sure if they'll be back again, there's always this urgency to get to their gigs when they do come. And to try to catch more than one gig, if possible.
Like I said, in the UK, it's easier to get to more than one gig in a tour. And even if you miss out, at least you know the Chiefs will be touring again within a few months.

FYI, the tickets for the San Francisco Fillmore show are on sale now; the Live Nation presale password is Medieval. I've got my ticket and I'm so excited that I actually am the proud owner of a Kaiser Chiefs ticket. Well done! lol

Does ashdch (however her name is spelt, doesn't help that I pronounce it 'ashdash' in my head) know that Chiefs are playing San Fran and tickets are on sale?

Yep, she knows. But I don't know if she's bought her ticket yet. The general sale starts today, so I hope she doesn't wait too long if she hasn't got it. I have no idea how soon the tickets could (or even if they'll) sell out. ... I pronounce it 'ashdash' in my head I do that too!

I guess we get spoiled here. Everyone usually plays here because it's "the" Canadian place to play, so when they don't, it's very disappointing. Damn you, Vancouver!

Boooo, no Denver! And they've got a lot of fans here, too. But it looks like they've opted to head south of the border between the Texas and Cali gigs instead of coming here. Well, glad I got that SF ticket! I would love to do LA too, but I don't know. Taking a week off from work in September is tricky when I've already got vacation time scheduled for October. That would really be pressing my luck with both work and The Mr! If we didn't have a trip in October, I'd totally do it, but... Ugh! I just don't know. Yay!! Looking forward to seeing you too, Ms Cherylcyn! And getting to meet Heather too! (Ooh, I hope she's bought her ticket!) ;D

Sorry, scrum. But a trip to NYC could still be fun, eh?
