Oh my god that was classic! That'll teach me to shelter from the rain (yeah I know, a Southern softie ) and that heartstopping moment the steward stopped me rejoining the queue... nightmare!

Thanks for the reviews! I can envision "Long Way From Celebrating" being great to hear live. Same for "Dead Or In Serious Trouble." Would also love to hear "Kinda Girl You Are."

I'm back! Well, what a fabulous 3 days, thanks to everyone for such a great meet up, I really needed that!
Gig wise I didn't enjoy the Tuesday too much, there were too many new songs (and I don't have my album yet and haven't really heard the clips) so it was a lot to take in. Little Shocks I loved though, but I thought it was a tentative show (although Whitey was smiling through pretty much the whole thing). Wasn't sure about the intro at first but did get into it after a while (and it did go on a bit so you could do that!).
Wednesday I was utterly knackered (which might have been the cupcake/muffin party we had back in our room afterwards so didn't get to bed until 2.30, one benefit for boardies taking over almost an entire B&B!). However, lots of mash and chips during the day and a sit down on a gorgeous beach in the afternoon meant that I was fine by the gig, and it was much better, the crowd were really into it, very bouncy without being rough (well, ended up same spot Simon side on barrier both nights, don't think anyone even brushed against me during the gig). Got into a few more of the songs (no idea what they were, will work it out when I listen to the preview clips!), but really, really don't like Man on Mars or whatever it's called. Ugh.

ahh cupcakes, that was great! Good times. Having just watched their intro again, regarding the old recorded/non-recorded bit, it looks like Peanut's initial keyboard bit is recorded, then they all join in and start playing live. Bloody love it. www.youtube.com/user/kaiserchiefsuk?blend=1&ob=5#p/u/10/A6BDkhlBrM4 The first part before this video did go on a bit though maybe.

I really really enjoyed the entire trip and both nights Have never been as nervous about anything as I was before Tuesday night...just really worried what it was gonna be like...but shouldnt have worried at all...by the 3rd song in remembered everything I ever loved about them and their gigs Really enjoyed both nights, was barrier simon's side first night and over Whitey's side down the side on second night (after doing pics), really enjoyed them both New stuff I was much more impressed with live. Little Shocks is actually amazing live. I really liked Man on Mars live, When All Is Quiet I didnt the first night but did the second night. And love the one that isnt released yet! Really really really enjoyed them and have to take back a lot of what I said...I will be seeing them lots more Oh and absolutely amazing meeting everyone and spending the days with them...missed it so much

Well what a couple of days. 2 Chiefs gigs, meeting up with friends. Really did feel at one point that I had stepped back in time. First gig, we managed to get on the barrier in front of Whitey. I did get a little butterfly effect in my tummy as the lights dipped and the intro music kicked in. The lads came on stage to do their thang. Found it very strange that they started off with a new song, obviously starting with a newie you didnt have that immediate ooomph (If you know what I mean) the familiar songs got a good reaction, but at times I felt a little uncomfortable as I was the only one jumping, literally. I had never had so much room to jump and dance which is good, but sometimes, especially at a Chiefs gig you expect a bit of pushing and shoving. It just wasn't happening. For me, I must confess, the only new song I had heard before the gig was Little Shocks. Im so used to going to a Chiefs gig without knowing the songs (last time was the Forum gigs when OWTH came out) When I first heard LS I wasn't convinced at all, but when hearing it live I loved it. The other new ones didn't really do anything for me to be honest. I really enjoyed the second half of the set from IPAR onwards but then noticed that most of the songs after this were all old ones apart from Kinda Girl You Are. Speaking to Whitey after, he said he was really worried about how it was going to go. I think this relected in their set, very concentrated and focused. But then you can totally understand this. Day 2 Simons side this time, which was nice to have a different prospective. I was really hoping that they would play about a bit with the setlist but unfortunately they didn't, both nights they played for about an hour and 15 mins ish This time round DOIST did grow on me the others were bearable, I still need to listen to them more. The crowd this time were more up-for-it, people on other shoulders, bouncing about. I really dont know what some people expect from a Chiefs gig. Both nights were tame crowd-wise, even though the second night was more rough, it was still nothing to moan about. I suggest if you dont like being pushed about or being pushed on the barrier then place yourself further back. Security wont do anything about people jumping about for gods sake!!! Dont even get me started on the meeting the band... Sorry Im ranting now, I'll shut up Apart from saying, all in all absolutely great to see them back. I enjoyed myself but not as much as I would've liked, gigwise. I do think some of the new songs havent got that immediate hook that gets you into their songs like ones of old. Thanks Chiefs and Mates for making my time in Falmouth such a good one, especially after the stressful transport F**k up we had getting down there. Oh and roll on Thursday ;D Crosses everything for a different set. but keep TMT in

Bit late, but nevermind... It was lovely seeing some faces I haven't seen in a while, it's strange... totally didn't feel like it had been almost 2 years! The first night wasn't the best, the crowd was pretty shit as hardly anyone touched me/jumped/danced, but it was just really nice to see the boys again and hear the new songs (even though most of the ones weren't on my album). Second night was muuuch better, a little bit more rough and I really started getting into the new songs. Have to say am really loving Kinda Girl You Are! What made my night even more was after the gig and meeting the band, especially Whitey... Overall had a lovely time in Falmouth

Alright for some..... Some of us wern't that lucky to see all of them on both nights. Let alone get pictures. Lets just say being practically pushed out of the way whilst patiently waiting. Is not big or very clever

I know the feeling Donna. I had been pushed out of the way loads of times by some woman and her husband. I never saw nick or simon on either night

Sometimes I'm aware that they're surrounded by a lot of people and I back off. I didn't see Ricky or Peanut on Weds night for that very reason.
I remember being walked towards Whitey once by a boardie as I really wanted to say hi but didn't want to bother him, after he came away from being mobbed by a big group of people outside Newcastle Arena. His face was a picture as I was being pushed along towards him.
Sometimes people think they have the right to see them. As far as I'm concerned, you buy a ticket and that entitles you to watch them play. It doesn't entitle you to barge people out of the way to get to see a band member that's good enough to come outside after the gig.
Hey ho. I'll shut up now.

I agree with that. I wouldn't just go up to a band member if they were with someone else, i don't get how anyone could do that anyway :/ i waited my turn to see/speak/get photos etc with them. Apart from the fact when Peanut was walking off and still had my pen that was the only time i spoke to any of them when they were talking to someone else.

It just surprises me how many times this happens with Chiefs. I never get it with any other band I go to see. Sal I once said the same thing you have just posted to a girl who was waiting outside to see White Lies not so much the barging part more about expecting the band to come out just because you are waiting. She gave me a look like she had just scraped me off the bottom of her shoe, went very quiet and then never spoke to me again. Just because you wait for them after doesn't give you the right over others to see them. Yes the band have been away for over 2 years and I can understand people want to see/talk to them. But we are all in the same boat at the end of the day

Play nice kiddies. She gave me a look like she had just scraped me off the bottom of her shoe, went very quiet and then never spoke to me again. And an even worse look when one of the crew gave me a present - t'was hilarious!

Even with Take That! lol Hopefully these were isolated cases and people will chill out a bit.

Even though with Chiefs it's still very peaceful, you should come and see what happens after a gig of my other fave band...

We've decided that instead of going to the gig, we're gonna have a pool party. Everyone is invited.
