Can anyone recommend a good one? Or are going to one this year? Went to Kendal Calling last year and loved it, but this year I fancy a change so I'm looking for a different one.

The only UK Festivals I have been at were V Festival Weston Park and Leeds Festival as well as Reading Festival.
If I ever would have to decide between Leeds and Reading ... Leeds would defo win. I liked the vibe and there are tons of things to do and a lot of different stages. Main stage was a bit rough but the crowd was awesome. Reading is more hipster and the festival grounds didnt appeal as much to me. Havent checked out the lineup as none of the bands I like is playing.
V Festival ... again here I would prefer Weston Park to Chelmsford. Although at this festival I was stuck at main stage the whole day I cant really say anything about the set up and stuff. The crowd was really good. So not much help from me here I guess. This years lineup is kinda blaaaa anyway though. Although I will be there for the KOL day.
If you are interested in EU festivals RockWerchter or Roskilde is high on my list. This year I will be trying Pinkpop as I think the lineup is awwweesome!

The Isle of Wight Festival if you get the weather is truly one of the greats of the festival season.
As for ones abroad, I've only got Optimus Alive in Lisbon to go on, but that was bloody brilliant, a totally different vibe to the UK Festivals, not full of pissed up, pilled up tossers, plus you've got the good weather

Went to Music In The City in Southampton at the weekend to photograph the event and was really impressed. The festival is held in vaults across the city and we ended up watching bands in some of the walls of Southampton, Holyrood Church(A Blitz destroyed church) and some really tiny underground vaults which you wouldn't otherwise know were there. Also discovered some good bands such as Skies On Fire(a new young 3 piece rock band), Soul & Fire(2 piece Southampton based acoustic Sicilian percussion inspired band) and Ben Goddard + The Heartbeats(Also Southampton based singer-songwriter). soundcloud.com/soulandfireuksoundcloud.com/bengoddardmusicI'd definitely go again next year and hopefully get to check out more of the venues/bands playing. www.flickr.com/photos/_modernway_/sets/72157636226975865/
