Their cover of No More Heroes is ace, top notch. One of my favourite all time songs too. Found this video too, although can't really hear the keyboards very well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WbsxniC_2s

Hi all - long time no post! Just wanted to wish everyone who is heading along to any (or all - if you're lucky!) of the gigs coming up, safe travels and have an amazing time! Looking forward to hearing all about how they go, so please keep the reviews and photos coming - I'm living vicariously through you after all!!

Okay ... who was in Bridlington? I think I have met Sophiechefs??? Can it be? Anyone else? Sorry its so confusing with all the different online names :-).
Thought gig in Brid was awesome. Had fun queueing and venue was really nice! Crowd was a little unexperienced so a lit of whining cause of the pushing. Dont think a lt of "real" fans where there ... it more had the vibe of a "town" event (nothing else on there on Saturdays).
Some were lucky to meet the boys behind the venue close to the beach in the morning. We waited for them after and had a chance to talk to Whitey ... we gaveup on the others too early - as Simons tweet should pfroof later (they were still inside) - and went home due to the cold. Of course I instantly regretted that when I saw Simons tweet.
As for the show ... excellent as always. Ricky went to the Balcony and was not impressed with the fact that the ppl in the Balcony didnt stand up (mostly old ppl - as I said ... strange crowd).
After voice problems in Manchester Rickies voice sounded fine yesterday :-).
Well thats that :-). Will post some pics later.

I was at Dunfermline on Thursday, had an amazing night, front row, centre stage. Ricky wanted us to be louder than the Barrowlands in Glasgow, not sure we achieved that, I don't know I wasn't there but I'm pretty sure we gave it our best shot. I don't know if the balcony were standing or not, having been up in the balcony for Blood Brothers, I'm not sure I'd want to be standing, it's scary up there!
They were brilliant as always. I loved Saying Goodbye, uploaded a vid from my phone on YouTube.
Been a while since I saw them (2007), I don't intend to leave it so long next time. Best night of my life.

Saying Goodbye live was heartbreaking, but so happy to be back at a Chiefs gig. How does Ricky do that almost every night?! So much energy, love how the crowd do everything he says as soon as they come out! Vijay fits in really well and he's brilliant on the drums, was apprehensive that it wouldn't sound right or look right but it did and it works. Heavyball are really good, nice sing along songs and nice lads, Night Engine have catchy riffs, weird lyrics but the lead singer really (really) scares me. :/ Found some great pics online: www.flickr.com/photos/davidruston/8481175523/in/photostream/The Brid Spa facebook has some photos but they are pretty rubbish quality.

Wasn't much a fan of Night Engine. Showing my age now when I say the singer reminded me of a Glenn Gregory from Heaven 17 throwback. Little bit strange but entertaining to watch nonetheless.

Oh yeah, Ricky had to share the lyrics sheet with Si when we heard "You've Got The Nerve" in Preston haha. But we didn't get to hear Living Underground, which was a shame, but hopefully they'll play that next week I enjoyed both Heavyball and Night Engine. Heavyball sound better live than recorded and i wish they were doing more dates. They were really friendly as well. So were Night Engine, i didn't think they were as good as Heavyball, but i'm sure if i saw them again they'd grow on me. In contrast, i prefer them recorded. As with Kaiser Chiefs it was BRILLIANT as usual. Finally, they got Peanut to clap during Modern Way this year! Simple things please me It was nice to hear old favourites being played once again such as Born To Be A Dancer and Thank You Very Much, i've been waiting years to hear both of them live. Yet it was nice to hear Heat Dies Down and Like It Too Much returning to the setlist. I also think that the new solo bit in Never Miss A Beat makes up for Take My Temperature no longer being in the setlist, even though i'll always miss that song. I enjoyed "You've Got The Nerve", if i was to describe it, i'd say it's quite punk-y and a return to similar older styles of KC songs, in a good way! Good, fast, upbeat song! Saying Goodbye is even more emotional live, but i think that was down to Ricky being ill and his voice made it sound more sad. But it's still a really good song and i hope we get to hear a recorded version one day. Vijay fits into the band brilliantly as well and looked like he was really enjoying it which is great still trying to get my head round the fact he's now in KC. But one day i will. Oh, and if anyone who was at the Preston gig believed Ricky's comment about Peanut being "born and raised" there, he wasn't. Just incase I didn't get the curtain thing though, as i could see them with lights getting to their places, then when the lights went down I could clearly see Whitey, Ricky and Simon at times. But either way, was something different. Apart from a few idiots stood next to me who clearly didn't know what a setlist was and thought they were given something "in code" from Heavyball. They also didn't want to be on the barrier because they were "embarrassed" . It was an overall great gig including the supports! Can't wait for Monday now I also hope Ricky and Simon are now getting better as they were both ill www.flickr.com/photos/_modernway_/sets/72157632834888715/

Thank you I managed to meet them all after Preston, but it was very very cold! Peanut kept telling me to keep warm haha. I couldn't feel my feet by the time i got back to the hotel, but it was well worth it Peanut had come out a lot later than the others with Roger, and it turns out Rogers coach left without him. I'm presuming he got on it in the end though, at least i hope so.

Does anyone know what time the gigs have been finishing (roughly) this tour? I'm going to Margate and the last train home is at 11.15pm D:

It's usually about 10:30 - 10:45pm. But it depends on the opening time of the venue too. You should be able to get out of a venue by before 11pm though

Ah that's reassuring, thank you. I thought they normally finished at about 10.30ish but just wanted to make sure! The curfew at Margate is 11, but the station is about 20mins away and would hate to just miss the last train... (then again, I'd hate to miss the end of the gig too!!)

Modern Way-I'm such a bad fan-it took me ages to work out what BTBAD stood for. It is Born To Be A Dancer isn't?! I love that song!

Just realised i'd posted this in the wrong bit, As for the gig, I thought it was brilliant and the crowd were great, in my opinion. I was on Simon's side, which made a change This Many Boyfriends have grown on me. But i've(and the people i spoke to around me at the gig) decided that their lead guitarist, Dan, is too good for the band. The others don't look professional, or can't play their instruments well. Their music is really catchy though and i really like their songs recorded. Their live performance is only good for comedy value unfortunately as it's a bit of a mess. Thankfully, they were actually in time at Brixton, unlike Southampton. At points i was thinking they sounded a tiny bit like The Cribs, then i read they've been recording with Ryan Jarman, so it makes sense in a way. In contrast, i really love Zulu Winter and i hope i get to see them live again. I didn't think they fit Kaiser Chiefs as a support band. But i didn't mind cause i really liked their music and thought they put themselves across well. Their music is kind of beautiful in a way and poetic which works well. I couldn't work out if they were actually really friendly when i met them though, or completely drunk. Probably the latter. As with Kaiser Chiefs, amazing as usual. Was great to hear Nananananaa again, although I missed Born To Be A Dancer and I thought that would've fit the London crowd better. Also nice to hear You've Got The Nerve again, I really love it, regardless whether it's finished or not. I reckon it sounds better than when i first heard it though. Thankfully at this gig, everyone around me knew the words, i've been to so many gigs where people don't even know the lyrics to their biggest songs it's worrying. Funny thing was that someone who got shoved into me actually said sorry. Never had that before and don't expect that to be honest.

^That's funny that you said you thought the crowd was good Modern Way. I was on Simon's side and thought some of the crowd really weren't into it, or at least at first. There were some people who made me smile, because they were really jumping around though!
I was a bit disappointed not to get Born To Be A Dancer, but who can resist Nanananana?!

Seemingly the people to the left and behind me were into it anyway And same really, but exactly! The "it does not shift, it does not shift me..." bits near the end confused me when singing along without Nicks backing vocals though But was nice to hear Nananananaa again of course!

Oh just remembered, did you notice the change of lyrics in Angry Mob (Jimmy Saville one) and TYVM?
It caught me out when I was singing at the top of my voice! haha.
TYVM said: "Should be a drill but it feels like a thrill" which makes more sense to me considering it was first on the set list for the two gigs I went to. Or did Ricky just get mixed up?
