Portsmouth. Brilliant as usual! Even if Ricky did have a cold, it didn't effect his performance whatsoever Apart from the fact he forgot the words in EIAN aha. The new songs are also sounding better and better each time i hear them, and i loved them anyway! From what i've heard the crowd further back was pretty rough, fights and they half stopped Oh My God half way through the end part due to a fight breaking out in the middle, they continued though. Also some complete idiot attempted to push Ricky out of the Circle. Apart from that though, met a few nice people in the venue and after who i hope to see again at future gigs All The Young seem to be getting better and better at every gig i see them at. I hope to catch them live somewhen soon too. Wasn't too impressed by The Fixers though(must admit i thought they were better for me than Native Tongue though!), very little crowd interaction too. Their guitarist was pretty good though. They've got Hammersmith to grow on me though

What she said! Was at Pompey and afraid to say there were a few 'youngsters' who couldn't handle the copious amount of beer they had drunk and were getting a bit feisty. Cannot understand why you would want to go to a gig and spend all that money on beer and kick off, it spoils it for all those around you who are then worried about getting involved, I spent most of the gig making sure we were far enough away from it all. Still, rant over. Great gig, first I've seen for a while now, saw them at Shepherds Bush Empire first time round, then the Southampton Guildhall about 3 years ago. It was a good mix of new songs and old favourites, funny when Ricky forgot the words to EIAN and thought he managed to contain himself when confronting the stupid woman who put her hands on his back whilst he was leaning over the Circle edge, I think all she wanted to do was touch his back but in that situation I can understand why he reacted the way he did. Very impressed with All The Young, so much so that I pre-ordered the box set thing that Play.com are doing for £4.99 for them, link below if anyone interested. www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/24449029/Welcome-Home/Product.html?searchstring=all+the+young&searchsource=0&searchtype=allproducts&urlrefer=search

Any time it was a strange one that one... Not much of a review for last night. Didn't see any of KC apart from Nick if i held my camera up... (was later assured by Nick that Whitey was there).Heard the whole thing and it was brilliant as usual though! Nice to hear Nick louder for once too! Frankie And The Heartstrings were great as usual too! Was nice to meet them again after too. The Fixers still haven't grown on me... Overall great tour though in general! Really glad/grateful i got to see them as much as i did Been really nice to travel, meet new people and learn new things too, great experience. Can't wait to do it again one day. ;D

I won't got into a load of detail for Manchester, Folkestone, Portsmouth, Bristol and Hammersmith because I'd probably bore you rigid - but I have to say, although I'm totally shattered, it's been incredible. Lots of brilliant memories in and around the gigs, afterwards and while travelling. Lucky enough to end up on the barrier Whitey's side or centre every time, which is great as you can generally see all five of them from there. Don't want to think about how many miles I've driven, but good times. Very good times.
Manchester was cracking, although as time's gone on I can't say The Fixers do anything for me at all. I'm sure if you're into that sort of thing then they're great - they do play their instruments well, their guitarist is really good and their front man/drummer too, they just don't quite gel together for me. But All The Young have really grown on me, didn't want them to leave the stage. I've even forgiven the lead singer for wearing sunglasses 24/7. Would love to see them again, and am looking for a gig of theirs to go to as we speak. Chiefs were as cracking as ever, one song less due to Ricky's bad throat/cold etc. They stayed with the same setlist for the rest of the tour:
EDILYLAL NMAB Little Shocks EIAN GDBD MW OTR (love it more every time they play it) Ruby AM Na Na Naa Starts With Nothing IPAR Kinda Girl TMT Listen To Your Head (love the way this ends the first part, seems to fit right in now) /// LNAC (although I love it more than anything, now I'm not sure it's in the right place, but maybe that's just me?) OMG
Folkestone I loved. Beautiful views out to sea and over to France. Never been there before, was great wandering round and down to the beach before the gig and a smashing venue. The gig itself was again loads of fun - The Fixers' set was cut short as their laptop kept crashing, the lead singer started telling jokes while they tried to sort it out! I really don't think they need the laptop, they played a bit without and it was fine, so maybe they could give that a miss and work on the five of them playing their instruments alone? All The Young - top notch. Chiefs really do just get better and better, I look forward to hearing the two new songs more and more. Despite Ricky being ill and his throat so bad, he still gave it his all and although the crowd were maybe quieter than at other venues, I heard people behind again singing along to the new songs as much as the old.
Portsmouth was very special, that place holds great memories for me so it was nice to go back there. Emotional at times driving round so I felt it might end up being a special gig. The Guildhall itself was stunning, and the gig was such a laugh. Ricky came to centre barrier during EIAN which was great, as he's being going to Simon's side mostly. The band came out afterwards and were lovely, they kindly signed a poster for my eldest daughter Georgia (who was so happy she promised to keep her bedroom tidy 'forever'... that soon wore off!), I told them I was taking her to Bristol and they asked if she was standing down the front/coming out afterwards etc. When I told Nick yes, she wanted to be on the barrier - he said 'chip off the old block then!'Talking about shielding Georgia from the crowd Whitey 'scary face' style, lost £1 notes at Portsmouth docks and free baby clothes stand out for me. I think I smiled all the way home, literally.
Bristol - I took Georgia with me, and it was brilliant. A great spot on the barrier in front of Whitey which was ideal, I didn't need to shield her from the crowd at all as it was bouncy and good natured, but not cramped. Fantastic gig, The Fixers again not my thing, but Frankie & The Heartstrings were as fab as ever. Again, looking at doing at gig of theirs sometime soon. The dude that is Dave Harper ran over and hugged me after the gig, he's great (and totally nuts!) Chiefs were ace, Ricky doing his best despite still being ill - drinking warm Ribena from a flask - bless! 'Baines Out' taped on to their amps, hahaha! Poor Peanut! Ricky coming into the crowd during OMG and making everyone sit down. I had to get up after about 5 seconds as my legs were going to give way (old fart/tired legs). After the gig they were all really lovely with Georgia. Nick walked up to us, pointed to her and said 'Georgina!', she laughed and we said 'Georgia!' but brill that he remembered her name(ish!) from when we spoke the night before. She was blown away. They posed for pics with her and signed Simon's setlist that Ilias had passed down to her. She said it was a dream come true, and it was a special night. She bounced all the way to school the next day, despite only having five hours sleep.
Hammersmith - I've always liked the Apollo, nice venue, sloped floor when the seats are taken out, so wasn't too worried about not being on the barrier but ended up left of centre again! Was great to see so many boardie faces to the left and to the right of me. Very long barrier too, and not much of the way of obstructions so pretty much along the length of it people got a good view I think? The Fixers, then Frankie & The Heartstrings again - their set flew by, loved every song they did. Cracking supports on this tour, although maybe I'd have loved to have seen more Native Tongue and less Fixers, but that's the way my choice of gigs fell I guess. Dave Harper ran up and gave me a drumstick 'here you go Sal' which made me smile like a loon, and I replied 'aww ta Dave' - doh! Met them all afterwards and they signed my stick and we had a big group photo taken with them outside (can't remember who's camera it was though?!) after us all being thrown out by security as they wanted to go home!
Rough gig, very rough at times - two massive circle pits behind us that got bigger and bigger with every song, which ended up with people repeatedly being thrown into the back of us. Stupid amount of deliberate attempts to hurt me/get me off the barrier, I feel about 90 today, covered in bruises, but won't let that spoil my night - lots of bouncing, Chiefs were as good as ever, Ricky going up to the balcony during TMT and ending up back on stage wearing a Union Jack flag (and the security guard in front again saying 'he's up there, look, turn around!' pointing to Ricky, but me just wanting to watch the band play!), back to Bates Out on their amps so Peanut was probably quite relieved, was hoping maybe for an 18th song to be added back in, maybe an oldie seeing as it was the last gig of the UK tour, but understandable with Ricky not feeling 100%.
Blimey that went on, but all in all, brilliant & best tour ever. Shall miss it and the people I've seen throughout. Cheers everyone, enjoyed it lots... too much, as I really want to do it all again. Although now I need sleep. ;D

Sal said it all very well ! I had such a great time in London for 2 days. A lot of money spent just for myself but all worth it ! I am extremely happy to have met (in the chronological order): Whitey, Peanut, Nick, Ricky and Simon, Jo, Sal, Maysie, Caramel, Carla, Claudia, Evelyn, Donna, Sam and sorry for those I'm forgetting, then Frankie and the Heartstrings and the adorable Dave Harper who gave me his other drumstick. I really loved FATHS performance, but can't say so for Fixers, plus the projector was blinding me and Jo so I had to crouch a bit to see comfortably. Chiefs were brilliant, as ever I guess (can't be objective as it was my 4th "gig"), I had decided not to listen to the 2 new songs before the gig and I really enjoyed the discovery. Crowd was bouncy behind but I managed to stay front, not end up crushed against the barrier, my own private victory of the night :-p The bad side of the evening: I have stupidly lost the setlist Ilias handed out on the counter of the merch stand (but it was more important for me to get a red tee-shirt for my son, who is very proud of it) The good side of it all: got to talk to Ricky a little to give him a badge (the Mind the Gap one, sewed on his shoulder, please if anyone has a pic where it's visible send it to me!), not those I had bought in France (what am I going to do with them now??). Thank you all for making it all so perfect

Blimey that went on, but all in all, brilliant & best tour ever. Shall miss it and the people I've seen throughout. Cheers everyone, enjoyed it lots... too much, as I really want to do it all again. Although now I need sleep. ;D Cant really add much more at all really, I didn't do that many dates on this tour just Manchester (Saturday) and Hammersmith. Manchester was sooooo much fun. If not just for watching Sal before the gig getting a little 'anxious' at doors Got to the barrier in front of Whitey with Katy, Sal and Alex. Was really strange only having a few of us at the gig. I gave Joff my patch as I entered the venue and was taken by surprise to see that Ricky already had it on his jacket by the time he hit the stage ;D Ive never had so much room on the barrier before, I was jumping like a loon from beginning to end. It was the very first time that I had heard On The Run and Listen To Your Head. OTR was an instant hit with me loved it, but I wasn't too sure about LTYH. I enjoyed the gig, was great to see the lads again, last time was Electric Ballroom (8 months ago) never realised it was that long ago (even if it was my birthday, thats probably why I forgot ) but just felt asthough something was missing as the crowd just didn't really seem that much into it, especially around me, maybe Im just used to rougher gigs. The meet up afterward was lovely, managed to get my vinyl signed and a really old setlist from 3 years ago. Whitey, Nick and Ricky showing real interest in what they played and in what order. A particular comment from Whitey made me smile. When seeing Heat Dies Down he said he wanted it included in the set but the others had forgotten how to play it Hammersmith Well, what can I say about London. It was BRUTAL!!! Maisie, Sam, Sal, Sarah, Anne, Jo and myself got to the barrier just to the left of the centre. After only having a few hours sleep the night before, I found The Fixers hypnotising, but by that I mean I found myself staring at the liquid lights moving on their set. Thats all I can really say about them, sorry. Really enjoyed Frankie getting used to see them supp KC and this is a good thing. Chiefs: Negative out the way first, the set seemed to absolutely fly by, there was no mix up or different songs included to the set which I was hoping for and not the bands fault but some morons need to be banned for life from gigs. Kicking, pinching, hitting and using brute force. Im not talking about drunken teenagers but drunken old blokes feeling the need to try with all their might to get 6 girls off the barrier. Safe to say they didn't know who they were messing with The gig itself was fab, I so enjoyed myself, despite what was going on behind us. LTYH I enjoyed more definitely a grower. IPAR was mental as was TMT, when looking up to the balcony for Ricky there was just open floor behind us where a HUGE mosh pit was waiting for Ricky to start up again. I just remember saying F*#k especially the size of some of those blokes Whenever the Guys play Kinda Girl You Are it always strikes me as a new song it sounds so old, if you know what I mean. Nick playing extended drums was fantastic and the band ad-libbing really did show off what they can do. Met them all afterwards and they signed my stick and we had a big group photo taken with them outside (can't remember who's camera it was though?!) after us all being thrown out by security as they wanted to go home! Blooming security, wouldn't even take the picture to get us out of the venue quicker. It was my camera will upload them soon. Lastly, was so nice to see so many familiar and new faces, you are all such a lovely bunch just hope its not too long until the next time.

If not just for watching Sal before the gig getting a little 'anxious' at doors Haha, I'm glad I entertained you while you were waiting to go in. not the bands fault but some morons need to be banned for life from gigs. Kicking, pinching, hitting and using brute force. Im not talking about drunken teenagers but drunken old blokes feeling the need to try with all their might to get 6 girls off the barrier. IPAR was mental as was TMT, when looking up to the balcony for Ricky there was just open floor behind us where a HUGE mosh pit was waiting for Ricky to start up again. I just remember saying F*#k especially the size of some of those blokes Oh god yeah, I remember looking back at that point too and thinking it was going to get really nasty. Seems like some people go to gigs purely with the intention of getting stupidly drunk and acting like idiots, they had their backs to the stage most of the time, so it's not as if they were there for the gig itself. That guy behind called 'John' was scary, making 'friends' with me then punching my back among other things that I won't go into... you just can't reason with people like that. No amount of me telling him to stop made the slightest difference. If they did that in the street they'd be done for assault. I still can't believe security threw Frankie Strings out with us! Cool, can't wait to see your pics! Thanks sasori1378, I'd give anything to be able to see them in Australia, it would also probably be a lot warmer than it has been here! It was really lovely to meet you gottann, such a shame about your setlist though.

I guess most of the time security are just doing their job, and rules vary from venue to venue, but matey on the door at Hammersmith said 'I wanna go home!' so it was all good natured. Met some smashing security staff throughout the tour, really helpful and quick to sort out problems etc.

Thanks guys for your reviews, it's lovely reading them. I'll bore you with mine of hammersmith now! I had such a great time. I ended up standing behind a lot of you-Mrs Sloth and I think Sammkat (a blonde lady)? Sorry if this sounds stalkerish I've just seen your pics on here so think it was you. I should of said hi but you don't know who I am, and I was bit shy!lol! Hopefully I wasn't annoying! Anyway I was about four people from the barrier on Whitey's side, which made a change because I normally stand on Simon's side. It was really nice to be able to see Nick and Whitey better. Whitey seemed a lot more 'bouncy' than usual!lol! I really enjoyed watching Nick flip his hair around too!! I don't know if I missed something but I didn't understand why Ricky put his hand over his mouth when he introduced Peanut before Modern Way? I really love 'On the Run', and 'Listen To Your Head' is so catchy-I was sort of singing along as the chorus went on. I really like how they are sort of stop and start, if that makes sense?! Slightly disappointed that we didn't get an extra song or a change because it being the last date, but still left with a huge smile on my face. It's a shame that the crowd was nasty in places, the people around me were lovely-no shoving or pushing or nastiness, they were all very polite. I've got a question-do you lot know the roadies and tech?

Just some let it down for the others especially the likes of the ones in Cardiff '09. But that was then. Most are pretty friendly Anyway I was about four people from the barrier on Whitey's side, which made a change because I normally stand on Simon's side. It was really nice to be able to see Nick and Whitey better. I always find that too! Hense why i'd much prefer to go Whiteys side. No offence to Si at all. It's probably cause Nicks drumkit's slightly more Whiteys side and not central

Well, I haven't really got much to say about Hammersmith that hasn't been said already, but here goes... I listened to a few of Fixers' songs prior to the gig, and while they are pretty good, they still took a little while to grow on me, plus I still think they have a bit of a way to go in terms of live performance. The supports' sets did go by rather quickly, and FATHS definitely sound like a band I could get into. I also liked how nearly everyone in the venue was singing along to Mr. Brightside during the interval. Me and my friend managed to get to the barrier, however it was on the very end Simon-side, so I could hardly see Peanut at all behind the speakers. Plus, we kept having to move for people crossing it. However, Ricky was standing right above us during IPAR, so that was a plus. I didn't particularly think their set flew by, but I was surprised by the time they got to TMT to realise it was nearly over. I was quite disappointed that they didn't play more album tracks, as I was especially looking forward to hearing LMLW, one of my favourites even though I keep accidentally deleting it from iTunes. However, reading the other reviews, I can sort of excuse them. Overall, for my first Kaiser Chiefs concert, it was a very memorable experience, perhaps it would have been more so if I hadn't forgotten my camera. (Had to make do with the crappy one on my phone) They are awesome live, especially the way Ricky interacts with the audience. Hope everyone else had a nice time on the tour, and I'm gonna stop talking now. ;D

I really enjoyed the Hammersmith Apollo gig. Yes, it was very 'active' but I didn't think it was any more so than any other kaiser gig I've been to. I'm sorry some of you had bad experiences with people trying to pull you off the barrier etc. I was on the edge of the massive pit but I didn't find it particually scary- but maybe that's because I don't seem to bruise! I've yet to get a bruise from a gig (no matter how hard I try! lol). Someone dropped their phone at one point and we had to try to keep a circle of floor open so that a guy and a girl could look for it. They were still looking for it after the gig, so it was probably stolen I tried to touch Ricky's hand when he leaned over the crowd but only managed to get to about 1 ft away. Sorry If I crushed anyone trying to get near! I liked the mix of songs from different albums. The new songs are great and seemed to go down really well with most people singing along by the second chorus. The gig didn't finish til about 11pm and my family got a bit cross with me cos I was supposed to meet them between 10pm and 10.30pm to get the train home. ... ...but it was so worth it! ;D

I thought i was odd cause i never bruise, even if i'm squished *high five* Also not good about the phone thing, i hope whoever it was gets it sorted. At the Portsmouth gig the security seemed to be very wary of people having phones on them, not sure if they had trouble at the gig the night before in the venue or something.

I don't bruise easily, but I was covered in them the next day. It was very rough where we were. Anyway I was about four people from the barrier on Whitey's side, which made a change because I normally stand on Simon's side. It was really nice to be able to see Nick and Whitey better. I tend to try to stand Whitey's side, as I think you get a much better view of all five of them from there - I stood Simon's side for the Falmouth gigs and had a job to see Peanut and Nick. Although having said that, because I've stood barrier left during the tour (hopefully Simon doesn't take offence!) I've then struggled to take any decent photos of Simon, which is a shame. Great reading these reviews, glad everyone had a good time.

Sorry about, wasn't sure about people's names, just knew that it was some people from here! Sal-I really enjoyed getting a different perspective from standing on Whitey's side but like you I couldn't really get pictures of Simon. I suppose standing in the middle is where it's at!lol!
