I went through all of their songs on Spotify and comprised a list of all my faves. A lot of them were already on the Souvenir: The singles 2004 - 2012. Here's my list:
EDIT: See below
Oh yeah, and of course, Coming Home, and Misery company. Haven't heard much else on the new album *excited*.
Hope I don't get done for double posting but I've taken my fave songs to the next level. I'm sort of making my perfect album. Having a bit of trouble for a song opener; I just copied ''Employment'' and put ''Everyday I Love You Less and Less'' but I'm not so sure. I think the start of the song sounds better following another one. I originally had ''Oh My God'' as number 1 but it's too good a song to put there, lol Kind of want a good song to start the album off and ease you/me into it. Choosing which songs go where is much trickier than I thought. I'm constantly juggling and tweaking it. I downloaded ''Coming Home'' and ''Misery Company'' off the net from the new album just because I already heard those a while ago and to see where they would fit into my list after listening to them. I have pre-ordered the new album anyway. So there's going to be free slots for the new stuff. Anyway, here's what I have so far, and I put some not so great songs but still good as filler between the great ones. I burnt myself out before by listening to just all amazing songs... if you know what I mean. It became too overwhelming.
So this is work in progress but it will be nice to see what you folks think. It's pretty obvious ''Coming Home'' and ''Misery Company'' sound very different, being in a league of their own. ''Coming Home'' blends in quite well with between Modern Way and The Angry Mob, though. ''Misery Company'' sounds out of place and quite overpowering against an already great song that is Little Shocks. The sound on Little Shocks sounds too low in comparison, so I'm not sure where to place those. I put Ruby quite far down because it's like a perfect song that you can get sick of listening too much, I think (hard to explain). So there is a very strong first half to this home-made album/playlist, and then a different kind of sound for the latter, with a few in between to bridge the AAA songs, as explained above. As I said, I love ''Remember You're A Girl'' and would love for it to be higher up but it also fits very well to end the album, hence being the last song. And will probably stay that way. I actually took 2 songs out because they sounded very similar - A Problem Solved & Hard Times Send Me. I took the latter out thinking the other one sounds slightly better. And Can't Say What I mean & Admire You (keeping the latter). Maybe my brain got fried listening to all these songs too much and they don't sound the same at all.
UPDATE: So yeah, I had a change of heart with the following songs: ''Problem Solved'', ''Admire You'', ''Can't Say What I mean''. Also added ''Things Change'' and ''Always Happens Like That''. I left Hard Times Send Me, find it kind of annoying.
I have to say, regardless of their positioning, this album sounds amazing, if I do say so myself.
36 Songs in total. I might change my mind about a few others after repeat listenings and add them to the list. Nothing will be subtracted, though, they're all ace!
