Just as a side issue about ticket prices, thought I'd look at what Ticketmaster are selling at the moment. Will Young - £40.25 inc booking, Plan B £31.50. Chiefs suddenly doesn't seem too bad. But Hard-Fi tickets are 'from £17.50.'

I looked up Crowdsurge on the site and they don't seem to have any connection to Ticketmaster, they say they are independent, so you should be OK tomorrow. oh thanks for that. I'd completely forgotton about their presale. Fingers crossed for tomorrow now So happy i've got 2 of the dates though anyway

Knowing how rocky my Kaiser love is at the moment I'll probably love them to bits again after Kirkstall and want more and not be able to get them

Gone for a Sheffield too using O2, so I guess we'll see. Might get big men in black suits knocking on the door taking any extra tickets back off me, but hey. We'll see what happens.

But Hard-Fi tickets are 'from £17.50.' Is that how much they are paying you to go to the gig? If it hasn't sold out by Tuesday, I might head down to the Assembly Rooms box office with some cash and get me a ticket. Those in the general sale, have you looked at getting the tickets direct from the venue websites? They might work out a bit cheaper with the fees.

Well my e-ticket for Sheffield has come through. Can't believe the robbing bastards charge a couple of quid for sending an email.
I might charge them a couple of quid back for printing & electricity costs.

As a side note to Sal's point earlier, Jedward tickets are 24 quid before booking fees, and Hanson are about 25 too. So I feel as though I am getting a good deal!

its the presale you can still get your tickets even if you dont get them straight away there are always returns and you have 5 months to sort it all out and find all the tickets you need
did I mention this is just the presale?
also remember for most people they will only be buying four tickets
the boys cant win whatever they do if they make it easy we all complain they have done so they make it more difficult and we complain we have to be more creative
I cant buy tickets until after I have been paid thats the way of it if I miss out on Friday I will find another way namely ebay

I think now I just got a bit panicky, and when it said max 4 tickets per household for the tour, just jumped to the conclusion that that was completely, I know now that being logical about it they have no way of knowing who else you buy them off of other sites or even direct, it was just this morning suddenly seeing that made me panic But yeah, know logically now they have no way of knowing!! So will try for the others on Friday Have the ones that I;m really bothered about anyway

Yeah i'm happy with the price. I mean it could be cheaper, but with all costs and that nowadays i doubt you'll get much cheaper for these venues.

Nothing like a bit of good old fashioned ticket panic, I was almost nostalgic....
My favourite ticket buying panics were the "interesting" hold music used by the Roundhouse for Electric Proms, and trying to get UK tour tickets while on holiday in Australia in January 2007 (using the computers in the hotel reception).

Well said and nice to have you back moo! :)Can you remember how long it took to get pre-sale off the website afew years ago and everyone went mental? At least this way I had bought the 4 tickets I wanted and had them confirmed after two minutes.

I just don't think it was made clear enough, maybe I missed it - but if it is strictly four per tour per household then if people had known (especially those buying tickets on behalf of others) that their allocation could have been used up in one gig alone, then maybe things could have been done differently.
It's a knee-jerk reaction to get annoyed, we've all been there - you're stressed trying to get the tickets you want, 9 times out of 10 when it's a popular gig/band/site it crashes, then they sell out, so seeing this message come up saying only four per household per tour, was bloody annoying. But yes, obviously if we can actually get them elsewhere then ok... so then if that's the case, what was the point of limiting it? Ah I don't know.
And what, Jedward is how much?! Jesus H Christ.

Yeah to be fair I didn't see the 4 ticket limit shown anywhere beforehand. And if I was wanting more than 4 today I probably would of got annoyed, but at least there's tomorrow and Friday if people aren't busy. If you buy 4 Jedward tickets you get discount and they end up at 21.50. What a bargain.

A lot of the panic/stress could have been avoided with a nice friendly email like the good old days. Put in that the pre-sale was on Facebook and normal sale on Friday, that Crowdsurge would limit to 4 per household but they were not the only ticket vendors selling them for this tour, and I know they don't normally do it, but the prices would have been nice too.
It was just the booking fee that got me! Ticketmaster have already got the prices and fees up, Facebook's 'Social Ticketing' could have done that.

Yeah i'm happy with the price. I mean it could be cheaper, but with all costs and that nowadays i doubt you'll get much cheaper for these venues. Looking at Sheffield... Wombats - £16 Bombay Bicycle Club - £15 Katy B - £14.50 Enter Shikari - £17 Tony Christie - £22.50 The Vaccines - £15 Imelda May - £23.50 The Levellers - £23 Shed Seven - £18.50 For the ones I checked, its only Chiefs and The Darkness that are charging £25 a ticket. The rest are in the £15-£20 bracket which is what I expect for that kind of venue. Chiefs tickets are too expensive. Fuck knows how much tickets will be if they didan arena tour.

Hang on, The Darkness are charging £25?!
At the end of the day, it'll be self levelling. I guess if you set a ticket price and people don't buy them because of it, you'll maybe re-think it next time. They're worth what someone's prepared to pay.
I was prepared to pay £50 for Take That and quite a bit more (just under £90 I think, granted they were good seats) for Noel Gallagher at the Albert Hall. People said I was mad, but I thought it was worth it. Just looked through my old tickets for the last Chiefs tour, they all ranged from £25 - £28, but yes, they were arenas, so god knows how much an arena would be now.

For one-off spectacular shows, I don't mind paying more for the ticket. But for a normal tour for a band that will do more than one tour a year I'm not as willing to pay those prices. I have recently bought tickets for Rammstein and they were £42 each face value. But at least with them you can understand why they need to charge so much.
